Paul Jensen
Writing for Film, Writing for Games
When it comes to storytelling for film or video games, Paul Jensen is your man. A five-time "Instructor of the Year" winner and multiple "Best Course" nominee at VFS, Paul's commitment and passion for cinema and the visual arts has labeled him a 'walking encyclopedia' of classic, modern, Hollywood, and foreign films.
Paul has a range of filmmaking skills, and has worked on independent projects, as well as in the local film industry. He has earned credits as a Producer, Writer, Director, Editor, and Actor for companies such as Rogers TV, Knowledge Network, Caprice Entertainment, MMM Film Finance International, and Hybrid Films. Paul has also been involved with Vancouver-based video game company BigPark, Microsoft in the conceptualization and development of stories for Xbox Live games.
Paul's ongoing work as a Story Editor has helped him pursue his own writing and directing career. His horror script Ravenswood is currently under option with Hybrid Films, and he has also gained experience as 2nd Assistant Director and Assistant Editor on the feature-length film Sweet Amerika.
Most recently, Paul was invited as an Academic Leader by the University of Tec de Monterrey in Guadalajara, Mexico where he lectured on film, writing, and video games. He is also a regular Presenter and Master of Ceremonies for monthly "Dinner Noir" evenings, lecture-based film events held by the Vancouver Club.
