Industry Software Skills
The most common instrument for a Sound Designer working today is the computer. Every post-production studio relies on artists who can be creative with software. Sound Design students at VFS each have access to their own personal digital audio workstation, including Avid Pro Tools, MAX/MSP, W-Wise, F-Mod, and more, for the entire year.
There are four fully-equipped Pro Tools studios and a main theatre studio at the Sound Design campus. Using a number of Pro Tools plug-ins, digital sound theory and Digital Signal Processing are examined and explained. Working with Mbox 2s, 002s, MOJOs, HD Workstations, and a Dual Operator ICON D-Control ES surround sound mixing theatre, you will become a Pro Tools expert, creating soundtracks for films, animation, and video games.
