Beauty & Glamour Makeup

Makeup always begins with a story, even in the world of Beauty, Fashion, and Glamour. In fact, the word "glamour" originally meant a "spell" or "illusion," to create the appearance of something, which in reality, was quite different. The idea that glamour has its roots in magic makes it easy to understand how well it applies to the style of makeup made popular by the Hollywood film industry and fashion culture. Whether designing makeup for performers as part of a film, or for the bride in a luxury wedding, the makeup defines the character - and the character defines the story. Basic corrective techniques, era-specific 'period' makeup, avant-garde fashion and runway styles are all considered to be beauty and fashion makeups, but they are first about creating a character. 'Real' life included.
