Gary Bourgeois

Intro to Sound Design

Gary came to VFS in 1994 after six years with Annex Professional, where he served as a Sales Representative/Consultant for MIDI/Digital Audio and a Certified Avid Product Specialist. AT VFS, Gary designed and implemented the Audio curriculum, and was appointed Director of New Media Studies in 1999.

Gary is a renowned musician, and has performed with many artists including A&M recording artists The Payola$. He is the guitarist in Vancouver's premier instrumental progressive rock group, Mind Gallery, and has extensive experience in the world of soundtracks, audio post for video, performance art, and software design for art installations, most notably Parsifal and The School of Velocity for Rodney Graham. Gary's current software project involves the application of A-Life techniques to real-time algorithmic composition using Opcode MAX and MSP.
